ALAN Mod. Super Record 1978 52cm

For sale is this beautiful Alan Super Record that l bought from the nephew of the first owner. It was parked for more then 25 years in a shed somewhere in a small town near Amsterdam. The last owner told me that his uncle was a former pro, but nobody of the family really cared about the bikes and they were forgotten and were left in his small shed. Unfortunately his uncle passed away and I had the chance to pick up this beauty.  Is is completely original, I even have the original pump that was installed on the bike when I've found it.
 
Alan was founded in 1972 by Falconi Lodovico. The company is well known  for it's innovation, bringing lightweight aluminum cyclocross and road frames and forks to the market in a time when steel was king, and racers flocked to the lugged models to save weight and have a more comfortable ride. It was one of the first manufacturers who were able to build aluminium road bikes. ALAN is best known for it's lugged aluminium bicycle frames, which are connected together by screwed or glued lugs.
 
This particular Alan is probably made around 1978.  It has the very rare 4 hole Campagnolo front derailleur, which was only produced in 1978. Besides of that is the pat. number of the campagnolo rear derailleur is (19)77. Furthermore is this beautiful Alan completely equiped with the best group they had to offer in the 70's; a Campagnolo Nuovo record one. Anothger remarkable detail that this bike also has is the pantographed parts. This was a special option at that time. The wheels are beautiful and well known mavic G40 rims laced to Campagnolo Record hubs.  A unique piece of Italian bike history..
