Raleigh Panasonic team bike

This Raleigh is probably the most special bike from my collection. It belonged to Peter Winnen, one of the best cyclist that we ever have known in the Netherlands. He used this bike during the 1984 Tour de France, which he finished in 26th place that year. He was a part of team Panasonic that year.

Framenumber is P.W. 2. 84. The frame itself is build by master builder Jan le Grand, who also was chief mechanic at TI-Raleigh. It is build from Reynolds 753 tuning, which was absolutely the best that you could get during the 80s. I also think that these framesets were actually built in Amsterdam at the Presto workshop, not in in the SBU workshop in Ikeston. Since the headset spacer is exactly the same as the ones that were used for the Amsterdam built Presto bikes.  Another interesting detail is the shifters. These are synchro super record shifters, something I  have never seen before. Furthermore is the bike equipped with a complete Campagnolo Super Record groupset. Because well, what else?
